Some Background

I've been called fat since I was only 5 years old from loved ones to bullies, creating body image insecurities since before my body was even fully developed.

I started sucking in my stomach when sitting on the floor during kindergarten music class, skipping breakfast and lunch in middle and high school, and even making myself sick and skipping classes in college due to my insecurities. I legit almost did not earn my college degree because of how often I was too insecure to go to class.

Losing my mom when I was 9 years old only emphasized the weight of my insecurities, leaving me with what felt like zero resources.

Balance with Neko was created to address a gap in support for women struggling to establish healthy habits and prioritize their well-being.

The Birth

I aspired to be a teacher since as far back as I can remember. I looked up to my teachers and thought they were all genuinely good people who wanted to help others and I wanted to be just like them.

I went originally went to college to major in secondary education. I wanted to be a high school English teacher.

Life has its way of lifing and I didn't end up becoming a teacher after all, though I was a preschool teacher for some time.

I moved to New York, where I became an executive assistant to a CEO at a major hedge fund.

Enter covid. I wanted to move back to the West Coast to stay close to family (though I loved my job at the time - family weighed supreme), so I became an EA at a hedge fund in San Francisco.

The energy to become a teacher, to put good into the universe, to do something that was fulfilling never went away.

Enter 2025 when I decided to leave corporate life behind and work for myself, doing something I whole heartedly love.
